Here I am in the home dugout of Yankee Stadium on a wonderful afternoon spent touring it, taking batting practice (I hit one out of the infield!), and enjoying that wonderful Stadium grass from the player’s perspective.
Now you know I am a Yankees fan, and I come by it honestly: my dad was a fan in the Mantle days, so I became one as well. My era began when they sucked in the late 60s/early 70s, and all my school friends teased me for not being a Mets fan.
If you look closely, you can see I am wearing an Arizona Fall League shirt, and that’s my other passion: following minor leaguers. I have attended many of the First Pitch Arizona events hosted by BaseballHQ and joined in by representatives of all the other great baseball sites.
